An Introduction

Do you avoid smiling because you might reveal a chipped tooth, an uneven bridge or stained teeth? Do you have a problem mouth – gaps and gaping holes between your teeth? Come visit Dr McClure’s office and take the opportunity to have your teeth whitened or gaps corrected with porcelain veneers.

“It’s amazing what a difference cosmetic dentistry can make in a person’s life,” says Dr. McClure. “Many of my patients smile more often. The best part is the compliments they receive from others. They feel like a million bucks and can feel more confident. I wish more people understood how easy it is to improve the appearance of their teeth. A few simple procedures can really make a difference.”

Dr. McClure has treated many patients with the latest innovations in cosmetic dentistry. Today’s high tech procedures allow him to strengthen teeth by grafting state-of-art materials to them. Unsightly colors and tooth shades can be corrected using a variety of techniques, including changing the color of the teeth through polishing and bleaching. To resurface the teeth, Dr. McClure uses the new fired-resin bonding and fine-fired porcelain or caps.

Cosmetic dentistry has advanced to an art and has changed people’s lives. Regardless of how you are, every smile has a little room for improvement. To schedule your free consultation and exam, call Dr. McClure’s office today at 314-843-3300. A five-year warranty is provided if the patient maintains regular check-ups at Dr. McClure’s office.

Explanation of Procedures

Crowns and Bridges

If you have a broken down tooth with a large filling in it, Dr. McClure may recommend a crown or cap to strengthen or rebuild it. With the latest advances in dental technology, we can create crowns that are virtually indistinguishable from natural teeth. If you are missing one or more teeth, a bridge may be the correct solution. A bridge is a permanently affixed prosthesis which functions very much like the natural teeth. Bridges, too, when properly constructed, can be very natural looking.

Porcelain Veneers

This procedure enable you to...

  • Lighten dark teeth
  • Straighten crooked teeth
  • Repair chipped teeth

First the tooth is shaped so the porcelain facing will bond to the tooth, then a mold is taken and sent to a dental artisan who creates the facing. Temporary facings are made so you can preview the result and with your approval, the new veneers are permanently bonded to your teeth. With proper care, veneers should last for years.

Cosmetic Bleaching

Dr. McClure and his team choose to use a custom take home bleaching system for a number of reasons. The first reason is cost effectiveness. This method is by far the least expensive of the accepted methods for lightening teeth, especially over time. No matter what form of tooth whitening is used, none is permanent. If you have your teeth bleached using an in-office system (laser whitening) you will have to pay a full fee to have them lightened again in a few years when they begin to darken. With McClure’s system, you just purchase more bleaching solution for a nominal fee. The second reason McClure chooses this system is proven safety. Over ten years of experience and clinical studies have shown that no permanent damage can be done to your teeth when an accepted solution is used with proper direction. The third reason to choose this system is results. Nothing has been shown to lighten teeth more effectively than this method.

Exciting New Technology Allows Beautiful One Visit Restorations

We have recently purchased and installed revolutionary computer based equipment that allows us to restore damaged teeth in a single visit....making your teeth beautiful and stronger than ever before. We now can quickly and economically restore damaged teeth using a durable ceramic material that matches the natural color of other teeth in your mouth. The new tooth will be metal-free...containing no silver to discolor your smile. This technology allows us to build partial and full crowns, veneers and all other single-tooth restorations in one simple visit. First, we prepare the damaged tooth by applying a thin layer of reflective powder directly on the tooth's surface. Then, using a special camera, we take a picture of the tooth. We work with this photo creating a pin sharp optical impression of the tooth. CAD or computer Aided Design technology helps us design the restoration from the optical impression. You can actually watch the process on a color computer monitor. Then, CEREC creates an extremely precise restoration. A high-speed diamond bur and disk work simultaneuusly to mill the restoration out of a solid block of special ceramic material. Finally ,we bond the newly milled restoration to the tooth base using state-of-the-art adhesive dentistry. Over a decade of clinical research and experience supports this CEREC technology. Actual user input and research has helped the manufacturer improve and refine the product. Dentists have performed over 4 million restorations worldwide. So call us today for an appointment to discuss your situation and needs.
