What is Galileos 3D Cone Beam Imaging? (Sirona Dental)
Galileos 3D Imaging is the state-of-the art 3-dimensional, cross-sectional, imaging system that effectively brings Mark McClure's dentistry to another dimension.
Compared to 2-dimensional systems that have long been the industry standard, the Galileos Imaging System gives the highest resolution quality with the lowest possible radiation dose among products available internationally. One 14-second scan will result in 200 individual exposures that show a patient's teeth, bone structure and anatomical features. The machine is handicapped-accessible, so a patient can either sit or stand while the cone beam circulates around the patient. This machine is not used for routine procedures.
Advantages Our Patients Receive From This 3D Scan
Images taken from the Galileos can be used to evaluate airways and face or head injuries. Areas of use for its 3D imaging also include post surgical analysis, spatial orientation, periodontal disease, restorative dentistry, orthodontics and oral and maxillofacial surgery. This advanced technology eliminates any guess work or unknown in the planning of highly involved specialty areas such as implants. This gives Dr. McClure the ability to generate surgical guides, enhancing implantogoly preparation and procedures. This ultimately results in a safer, more effective end-result for the patient. The implant surgery is performed virtually before the procedure starts.
Since it is one of the only machines of this kind in the area, Dr. McClure can communicate his findings with other local dentist and physicians and rely on a precise basis for consultations with colleagues. This diagnostic service is available to other dentists and medical specialists. They can schedule a scan at our office, and a cd will be generated with the patient's 3D files and the necessary software to view it in their office.
We are constantly searching ways to deliver the most advanced treatment available. Galileos 3D imaging allows us to maximize our efficiency and streamline your treatment, form diagnosis to treatment planning and the final surgery. This is another way to give you the state-of-the art care you deserve.
